1. Let’s begin with a brief introduction of yours and an overview of your debut book— Ek Dhadkan, Do Dil.
Hi Virendra! First of all, I would like to thank you and your readers for all the love. I’ll begin with a line- “’Tanha rahi apni Rah chalta jaeaga, Ab Jo bhi hoga wo dekha jaeaga”.
My life hasn’t been easy. It’s been a battle since the start. I come from Shiv Nandanpur, a small village in the Samastipur district of Bihar. With hard work and patience, I have made small steps throughout my journey. I started as a freelancer for DD News, and then worked for Dainik Jagran, India News, News World India, and Jan Tantra TV.
I then started my new session with Aaj Tak’s digital wing. During my work, I have given my best and tried to write in a unique way. My book, ‘Ek Dhadkan Do Dil’ is one such work of hard work, love, and uniqueness.
Ek Dhadkan Do Dil (एक धड़कन दो दिल) is not the story of a single character, but the story of everyone who has ever loved, whether himself/herself or any girl/boy. It’s the story of a lover who fights life, family, career, and himself, but doesn’t say anything to anyone. That’s Ek Dhadkan Do Dil for you.
2. From where did you get the idea behind your story? Do the characters come from real-life incidents or from your own imaginations?
Once, a famous thinker or novelist said, “Each and every life is like a novel or a movie.” All you need to do is to give shape, line, and energy to the plot of life. Once that’s done, you are also a novelist.
I have done the same thing with my life. Characters of the story depend on your thoughts and imagination, and the way you want to create the story.
All the characters in my book are inspired from real life. Some part of the story is based on imagination, while some part is from real-life incidents. I have promised to the person that I wouldn’t disclose his/her real name with anyone. But one thing is sure- the characters are real and alive.

3. What was your aim with Ek Dhadkan, Do Dil book. What message did you want to get across?
The core aim of my book is to bring the hidden truths about the youth, what they face, difficulties, as well as mental health issues often ignored. The story shows that love is not easy, but the youth shouldn’t take any wrong steps, like suicide because of love or heartbreak.
I have also discussed Bipolar Disorder and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). These diseases are dangerous, but are often ignored by everyone. Readers will understand these things and learn that nothing is impossible in life. Love can change anything.
4. Have you always wanted to be a writer? (And was there a particular moment you thought, ‘I can do this!’?)
No. I never wanted to be a writer. When I was a child, my parents wanted me to become a doctor, engineer, IPS, etc. In a small village to where I belong, nobody knew that even writing can be a profession. I also had no knowledge or idea about becoming a writer someday.
But today, I’m confident about writing. I can do this.

5. What sort of reviews are you receiving from the readers?
The reviews are amazing and unbelievable. People have been asking me how I did this. Ek Dhadkan Do Dil book is for everyone, whether you are in love or not.
Some of the readers asked me how possible it is for anyone to love someone when you have a job, family pressure, struggles of life, etc. My book answers all these questions. Love and the lover never die. That’s what my book shows.
6. Whom do you consider your icons when it comes to writing? Any favorite authors?
My all time favourite writers are Nagarjun Ji and Munshi Premchand Ji. I come from the land of Dinkar Ji and Karpoori Thakur Ji., I read the Godan book when I was 10. At that time, I had no idea about writing, nor did my parents. We come from a farmer background. In India, everybody is aware about the situation of farmers.
7. Please share with our readers some of your favorite lines from the book?
Sure.
“Bhulne ki baat karte ho use, Bhulna itna aasan hai kya? Ye chand, Ye suraj, ye jamin, ye aasman, ye dharti kabhi kisi ko bhul paye, jo mai use bhul jaun. Bulane ke liye mai muhhbat nahi kiya hun. Tum khana, jeena, sanse lena bhul paye kya, to mai use kaise bhul jaun? Sham Ka wakt tha mere hathon m mobile tha, Mai idhar udhar dekhte hue Sadak paar kar rha tha. Achank phone ki ghanti baji aur bas ek word jo mere kano me sunai diya wo kabhi bhula nahi ja saka.
Raj….Raj…wo kahti rhi aur main bas sunta rha…
Aaj bhi yaad hai uske wo purane din jab sawan ke dino me barish me bheeng kar bhi wo milne, mujhe dekhne aa jaya karti thi. Lekin ab Pure 10 Sal ho gaye, wo aai bhi to is haal m dekhne….
Arti ko kabhi bhula nahi paunga, bas wo Meri Ho ya nahi, Mai uska hamesha rahunga…”
These lines always hit me. I’ll never like to imagine any lover losing the love of their life.
