1. Let’s begin with a brief introduction of yours and an overview of your latest book—Ishq: Out Of Budget.

I was born in Hathras, a small town near Agra. My childhood is ordinary. I grew up in Allahabad, now known as Prayagraj. Being born into a family full of Advocates, choosing a writing career was not easy. After 12th results, everyone was expecting me to choose law as my career, but life never goes with your plan. I chose to do a bachelor’s in media studies from Allahabad University.

In life, I never thought that I could be a poet, but in 2017 destiny turned me towards the writing and now I am a poet and an author. Apart from writing, photography and reading religious texts acquire my leisure time. At the beginning of my life, my influencers were my parents who never forced me to do anything as I was not a bright student. But they always supported me to do good in life.

Ishq: Out of Budget book is very close to my heart. It’s a true love story based on real life. This story takes place in Allahabad. Few things are always out of budget from your life, and similarly sometimes love is also out of budget, in the parameter of religion, caste, status, life or death.

2. Where do you get the ideas behind your stories? Do the characters come from real-life incidents or from your own imaginations?

When I start penning down my thoughts, I always keep one thing in mind ‘I’m not the writer of this book. Being a reader, do I have the courage to share this work with my younger ones?’

Giving good stuff to read is like feeding the mind of the young ones. In my stories, I try to portray true and respectful love. Some of the characters are from real life.

3. What was your inspiration behind writing the book?

4. Please tell our readers about your debut book—Tumhari Priyam. When did you write it and what sort of reviews you received from the readers?

5. Three lessons that you learnt after publishing your first book. How did these help you to craft the second one?

(I) The main selling point of your book is your content. The content of my first book “Tumhari Priyam” is good and people love it. So, it helped me to craft the second book on the same writing pattern.

(II) Don’t become an author just to impress people with the author tag.

(III) Your own efforts matter the most.

7. It is often said that writers have their hearts broken at some stage of life. Does that remain true for you as well?

Yes. Before 2017, I never thought that I will be a writer or poet someday. I am a poet not by choice, but destiny made me. From 2015 to 2017, I tried very hard to get admission in one of my favourite colleges, but I failed to crack the entrance and because of that I start turning my pain into words.  Slowly things turned me into a writer. My aim is to make poetry and my write-ups readable so that everybody can feel connected.

8. Whom do you consider your icons when it comes to writing? Any favourite authors?

Munshi Prem Chand is my all-time favourite.
